The calculation in the wrong order
Hire fees here. Per-head pricing there. A round figure you've been holding in your head for the whole celebration. And no clear sense, yet, of what your day will actually cost when you add it all together.
Here's what I see, again and again. Couples decide on a total budget. They look at venues first. They fall for a property. And then — afterwards — they try to make everything else fit around what's left.
It almost never does. The trouble isn't ambition. It isn't even budget. It's the order.
Cost your day first. Find your venue second.

The APPETISER
Five short videos. A companion workbook. The full written guide. Together they walk you through every category of spend at a wedding in France, with real figures drawn from weddings I planned in 2025 for every budget — and the 5-step framework I use to turn those figures into a budget you can trust.
It's the budget conversation I've had over and over again with couples — recorded, properly, with a workbook you can fill in alongside.
LAURA'S NOTE
The numbers in here aren't industry averages, and they aren't aspirational estimates. They're drawn from weddings I planned in 2025 for every budget — not the rates of any one supplier, but a fair, representative picture of what a wedding in France actually costs.

What each category of a wedding in France actually costs — with real per-head and total figures laid out clearly.
lessoN 02
The structure of French suppliers, dry-hire venues, and the costs couples consistently miss. Once you see it, it makes sense.

The order I use myself: cost your day first, then look at venues. The single change that makes the whole search honest.
lessoN 04

By the time you close the workbook
You'll walk into your wedding planning and first viewings with a figure in mind that you
trust. You'll read a quote and know what's missing from it. And the conversations with your partner will move from worry to planning — because you'll both be looking at the same, honest picture.
That's the work this Appetiser does. Calm, clear, and in the right order.
i
A clear understanding of what a wedding in France costs — by category, by guest count, by region.
ii
Confidence about the figures: what's realistic, what's luxury, what's budget
iii
A 5-step framework for calculating your venue hire budget before you start searching.
iv
A completed (or in-progress) personal budget table specific to your wedding.
v
Clarity on the French supplier structure — and where the unexpected costs come from.
vi
A clear sense of where to invest and where to save, without compromising the day.

who's teaching it
I've been working in hospitality, events and weddings for over thirty years — first in the UK, then France and for the last fourteen years running French Wedding Company near Bordeaux. With my team I've planned over 130 weddings across France, and I have personally walked through more than 300 venues along the way.
The figures in this Appetiser come from weddings I planned in 2025 for every budget. Not industry averages, not aspirational estimates, not what a venue's marketing pack says — and not tied to any one supplier. A fair, representative picture of what a wedding in France actually costs, across the full range of how couples choose to spend.

You've already booked your venue and your budget is set.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, CALMLY ANSWERED
Five short videos, approximately 30 minutes in total. Designed to be watched in one sitting or across an afternoon..
It's most useful before you begin seriously looking at venues — but couples at any stage will find the figures and framework valuable. If you've already booked, it's still worth knowing how the budget structure works.
Absolutely. Whether you're marrying at a chateau, a winery or in your own garden, you still need to understand what your day will actually cost. A home wedding has its own cost shape — you save on the venue hire, but the categories underneath (marquee, kitchen and power hire, loos, lighting, insurance, supplier travel and accommodation) often look quite different to a purpose-built venue. The framework in this course works for both — it just helps you see where your money is going and where the gaps tend to sit.
A digital companion document (PDF) with key takeaways, reflection questions for each lesson, and a two-part personal budget planner you can complete with your own figures.
Yes — but in a considerably more in-depth form. It's a programme I guide you through personally, with regular live Q&A sessions where you can ask me directly about your specific figures, region, ceremony type and venue choices.
If your first budget calculation came out higher than you were hoping, the Programme is where you understand why — and what to do about it. Think of this Appetiser as the honest starting point; the Programme is the full guided experience.
No — and that's intentional. What you'll have is an honest working framework: realistic figures at professional rates, the costs people most often underestimate, and a starting calculation built around your guest count and priorities.
Most couples find their first calculation runs higher than they were expecting — that's completely normal, and it's exactly what the framework is designed to surface. From there, you decide what matters most to you, where you're comfortable spending less, and what you're not willing to compromise on. Your actual figures will evolve as you get real quotes from real suppliers.
This Appetiser gives you the honest foundation to build from, not the final number.
The price you see is the base price. French TVA (VAT) is added at checkout for buyers inside the European Union, in line with EU digital-product rules — the exact rate depends on the country you're buying from.
If you're buying from outside the EU (the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and elsewhere), no TVA is added — the base price is what you pay.
Five short video lessons, accessible immediately after purchase. The workbook and full written guide are downloadable PDFs — available from your materials page.
There is no trial period, and I don't offer refunds. The Appetiser, workbook and full written guide are delivered to you in full the moment you buy — whether you work through them is up to you. If you'd like to ask anything before you decide, please do email me first.
Of course. Email [email protected] — I read every message.
